A PERSONAL APPROACH

A signature journey through two regions rather than a mass-market tour

‘I do not lead tourists: I open a world for my guests that winemakers show only to a select few.’ YOUR GUIDE-SOMMELIERYour guide-sommelier

01

Deux régions, une seule logique—two regions, one story

Champagne and Burgundy are linked by one grape: Pinot Noir. Understanding it in sparkling and still forms over six days is a unique experience found nowhere else. Every address in the programme is a personal choice.

02

Private tastings away from the tourist rush

Krug, Ruinart, Rousseau and Lafarge do not accept individual visitors. Access is through us alone, in a private format. A conversation with a winemaker, a glass in a 12th-century chalk cave and a walk beside the Grands Crus: that is the essence of this itinerary.

03

A balance of great wines, gastronomy and France

Reims Cathedral at sunset, biscuits roses with Champagne, Époisses in Chambolle-Musigny and truffles with Gevrey-Chambertin: food and wine are equal partners in this journey, not extras to a tasting.

Private format · By advance request · Limited places

TWO REGIONS WITH HISTORY

Why Champagne and Burgundy

France’s two most prestigious regions, connected by one grape: Pinot Noir.

Champagne: bubbles, chalk terroir and history

Champagne: bubbles, chalk terroir and history

Krug, Ruinart, Egly-Ouriet and Pierre Gimonnet are more than labels. Here you can enter the chalk crayères, meet a récoltant-manipulant and understand how Blanc de Blancs differs from Blanc de Noirs in flavour and aroma. Access the casual tourist does not have.

Burgundy: UNESCO climats and the tranquillity of the Grands Crus

Burgundy: UNESCO climats and the tranquillity of the Grands Crus

UNESCO has recognised Burgundy’s climats as a World Heritage Site. Medieval Beaune, Gevrey-Chambertin’s vineyards and Clos de Vougeot château: here, a 50-metre difference in terroir is worth thousands of euros per bottle. History you cannot simply read; you have to walk through it.

The gastronomy of two great regions

The gastronomy of two great regions

Biscuits roses de Reims with Champagne, Troyes andouillette, Époisses with Marc de Bourgogne, escargots de Bourgogne and truffles with Gevrey: the cuisine of Champagne and Burgundy is inseparable from their wines. Restaurants and bistros known only to locals.

THE VALUE OF THE TOUR

Why this tour is worth the price

Five reasons why a signature itinerary through two regions offers better value than doing everything yourself. "One well-chosen itinerary is worth more than ten random trips."

  1. 01

Two UNESCO sites in one private format

Champagne’s chalk caves and Burgundy’s climats, both World Heritage Sites, on one itinerary. A small group or a private trip: no coaches, just your party and your own pace.

  2. 02

Private places you cannot put together on your own

Krug, Ruinart, Rousseau and Lafarge do not open to casual visitors. Our access comes from longstanding relationships in both regions, not Google Maps.

  3. 03

The itinerary’s logic: Pinot Noir as the connecting thread

Champagne and Burgundy are connected through Pinot Noir. Understanding this grape in both sparkling and still forms over six days is a unique educational experience you cannot find anywhere else.

  4. 04

A carefully planned transition between regions

On the third day, travel through Chablis with a stop at a producer. More than logistics: another tasting and an explanation of the limestone connection between three regions.

  5. 05

One expert, one curator, one story

Not a tour guide with a microphone, but someone who knows both regions from within, can explain the differences between appellations and book precisely the table worth having in Beaune.

In ten years of travelling in France, this was the first itinerary that made me understand why I should come back. Champagne gave us bubbles and joy; Burgundy gave us tranquillity and depth. Kirill Lazovsky revealed wine to us in a way no book or course could.
Anna and Sergey Volkov · Saint Petersburg
We travelled as a couple. Krug in a chalk cave, dinner in Chambolle-Musigny, sunset over Clos de Vougeot. None of the tourist bustle. We still talk about it.
    Mikhail and Irina · Moscow
We travelled as a group of five. We worried it would be hard to please everyone, but it was not. Our own pace, private tastings at Rousseau and a Michelin-starred dinner in Beaune. Our best trip in five years.
    Renova Capital team · Moscow
I am a sommelier with eight years’ experience. I thought it would be difficult to surprise me. The tasting at Domaine Rousseau and the explanation of Chambolle-Musigny changed my view of Pinot Noir forever.

    FAQ

    Frequently asked questions

Answers to the main questions before booking.

What is included in the tour price?

Transfers throughout the itinerary, all Champagne and Burgundy tastings (40+ during the tour), a guide-sommelier for six days, lunches, dinners and picnics in the programme, and admission to the Hospices de Beaune and Clos de Vougeot. Accommodation and flights are not included.

Can we visit just Champagne or just Burgundy?

Yes. You can choose the full six-day itinerary, Champagne only (three days), Burgundy only (three days), or extend the tour to eight days.

What level of wine knowledge do I need?

No. The programme suits both those beginning to discover wine and experienced enthusiasts: I explain things during tastings and adjust the depth to suit you.

How is travel between Champagne and Burgundy arranged?

Travel between regions is part of the programme: transfers and logistics throughout the itinerary are included, so you do not need to organise anything yourself.

How many people can join the tour?

It is a private format for a couple, family, group of friends or corporate trip. We discuss the group when you enquire, as it determines transport and the price calculation.

What is the best time of year to go?

Both regions are beautiful at any time of year. September–October brings vendanges, the harvest, with a particularly lively atmosphere. Spring means budding vines and soft light. Winter brings tranquillity, Dijon’s Christmas markets and truffles. In summer, the vineyards are in full bloom and fewer tourists visit the estates.
