Day1
THE RIVIERA’S CAPITAL: YOUR FIRST ENCOUNTER WITH THE MEDITERRANEAN
Nice: Promenade des Anglais, the old town and your first glass of rosé
Your journey begins in Nice, where Belle Époque meets an Italian soul. Meet at Nice Côte d’Azur Airport and transfer to your hotel on the Promenade des Anglais. A first walk along the promenade: seven kilometres of palms, blue chairs and endless sea. Lunch at a Cours Saleya bistro: salade niçoise, socca and a glass of ice-cold rosé. In the afternoon, the flower and spice marché on Cours Saleya, one of France’s most beautiful markets. Climb the Colline du Château for a 360° panorama of Nice. An evening tasting of three Bellet rosés, the only AOC within city boundaries.
Day2
THE TOWN PICASSO CHOSE TO LIVE IN—AND WE UNDERSTAND WHY
Antibes and Juan-les-Pins: Picasso, Marché Provençal and Cap d’Antibes
The morning begins at Antibes’ Marché Provençal, a covered market since 1908 where Provence’s finest producers sell cheeses, olives, lavender and seasonal fruit. Then the Musée Picasso in Château Grimaldi, a 14th-century castle where Picasso lived and worked in 1946, creating 67 paintings and 200 ceramics in six months. A walk on Cap d’Antibes, a wild headland with billionaires’ villas and Alpine views. Lunch in a restaurant overlooking the sea. After lunch, free time on the beach at Juan-les-Pins, the town of jazz and art de vivre.
Day3
THE DAY YOU BECOME A PERFUMER AND A PROVENÇAL COOK
Grasse: create your own perfume + a Provençal cooking class
The journey's most creative day. Morning starts in Grasse, the world's perfume capital, where fragrances have been made for royalty, Chanel and Dior since the 16th century. At one of the oldest perfume houses, founded in 1747, a maître parfumeur leads a private workshop. You learn about a fragrance's pyramid—top, heart and base notes—and create your own perfume under the master's guidance, taking it home in a personalised bottle. Lunch on a terrace overlooking the valley. After lunch, a cooking class in a Provençal chef's private home: authentic bouillabaisse, ratatouille from the chef's grandmother's recipe and tarte tropézienne. In the evening, dinner consists of what you have made, with rosé from a neighbouring winery.
Day4
A MEDIEVAL VILLAGE THAT BECAME AN OPEN-AIR MUSEUM
Saint-Paul-de-Vence and Bellet wine cellars: art in stone and in the glass
Morning in Saint-Paul-de-Vence, one of France’s most beautiful villages. Medieval walls and narrow lanes with galleries and artists’ workshops. Chagall, Matisse, Braque and Prévert lived and worked here. Breakfast at the legendary Colombe d’Or, the hotel-restaurant where Picasso and Matisse paid for meals with paintings. A tour of the Fondation Maeght, one of Europe’s finest modern art museums. Lunch at a village restaurant. In the afternoon, travel to the vineyards of Bellet, one of France’s smallest AOCs. Meet a winemaker, tour the vineyards on the slopes above Nice and taste in the cellar. Return to Nice in the evening for dinner.
Day5
TWO WORLDS: THE PRINCIPALITY’S GLAMOUR AND A MEDIEVAL FAIRYTALE
Monaco and Èze: the Prince’s Palace and a village above the clouds
A day of contrasts. Morning in Monaco, the world’s second-smallest country but first for its concentration of luxury. A walk on the Rock of Monaco: the Prince’s Palace, changing of the guard and the cathedral where Grace Kelly married Rainier III. The Oceanographic Museum, one of the world’s oldest aquariums, founded by Albert I. Lunch in a restaurant overlooking the harbour. After lunch, Èze, a medieval village perched on a rock 427 metres above the sea. The Jardin Exotique with its cactus collection and 360-degree panorama. A walk through narrow streets where time stopped 500 years ago.
Day6
A DAY ON THE WATER: A YACHT, A BEACH AND A GLASS OF ROSÉ
Saint-Tropez: a yacht trip and Riviera glamour
The day people come to the Riviera for. A private yacht trip in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, passing celebrity villas, Pampelonne beaches and Cap Camarat. A stop to swim in azure water: just you, the sea and sunshine. Lunch aboard: fresh seafood, rosé and fruit. Afterwards, a walk through Saint-Tropez: a yacht-filled harbour, narrow old town streets and the Musée de l'Annonciade with its Pointillist and Fauvist collection. A visit to Pampelonne, the very beach Brigitte Bardot made famous. A tarte tropézienne tasting at the original patisserie. In the evening, an aperitif among the yachts in the harbour.
Day7
THE FINAL DAY: THE RIVIERA’S MOST BEAUTIFUL VILLA AND FAREWELL LUNCH
Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild and farewell: a final lunch above the sea
An elegant and slightly sad final day. Morning at Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild on Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat: a pink Italian Renaissance-style palazzo built by Baroness Béatrice de Rothschild. Nine themed gardens, including French, Spanish, Florentine, Japanese and exotic gardens, against an azure sea. A walk through the gardens and the villa’s interiors. Then one final gastronomic lunch at a restaurant overlooking Villefranche Bay. A last rosé tasting from three appellations. Farewell transfer to the airport. You take home your own perfume and the whole Riviera, in a bottle of rosé and a flacon of fragrance.
