Day-by-day plan

1. 1

   Day 1 · Beaune

   Arrival in Beaune, tour of the Hospices de Beaune, walk through the medieval center, tasting at the Louis Jadot merchant's house.

2. 2

   Day 2 · Vosne-Romanée

   Drive along the Route des Grands Crus: Vosne-Romanée, the village of Romanée-Conti, Clos de Vougeot château and a tasting in Nuits-Saint-Georges.

3. 3

   Day 3 · Puligny-Montrachet

   Puligny-Montrachet, great white Grand Cru Montrachet wines, lunch in Meursault and a final Chardonnay tasting.

4. 4

   Day 4 · Dijon

   Dijon, Burgundy's capital (40 km from Beaune): the Ducal Palace, Museum of Fine Arts, medieval streets and a food market.

5. 5

   Day 5 · Lyon

   Arrival in Lyon, a walk through the Old Town, lunch in a bouchon, Fourvière basilica with its panoramic view, and dinner with Rhône wines.

6. 6

   Day 6 · Châteauneuf-du-Pape

   Travel from Lyon to Avignon, around 2.5 hours. A legendary appellation, the ruins of the papal château, a tasting at Château de Beaucastel and lunch among pebble-covered vineyards.

7. 7

   Day 7 · Orange

   Orange's ancient theatre, the best-preserved Roman theatre, and a walk through the town. Return to Avignon and departure.
