Airport transfers in France: how to book, where to meet and what they cost

How airport transfers work in France: booking information, meeting your driver, flight delays and waiting time. Prices for individual routes.

In brief. Book your transfer in advance and give your flight number, address, number of guests and suitcases. The driver meets you with a sign and tracks the flight, adjusting the meeting time if it is delayed. After the actual landing, the driver waits free of charge for 1 hour. The price is fixed when you book: from €90 from Charles de Gaulle to central Paris, €75 from Orly, and €120 from Nice Airport to Monaco.

How much it costs

Prices are per car. The exact amount depends on the vehicle, time of day and number of guests; we confirm it within 24 hours of your enquiry.

If your route is not listed, include it in your enquiry. Journey times exclude traffic; on weekday mornings and evenings, Charles de Gaulle to Paris can take considerably longer.

What to provide when booking

  • flight number and arrival date;
  • destination address, preferably including the hotel name;
  • numbers of adults and children, and children’s ages and weights;
  • suitcase numbers and unusual luggage: skis, cases of wine, a pushchair;
  • a contact for the journey, ideally WhatsApp or Telegram;
  • whether you need to stop somewhere along the way.

It helps to specify the terminal, but the driver will also check it using the flight number. Give the actual flight number rather than just an arrival time: that is the only way to track a delay.

Where you will be met

The driver waits with a sign in the arrivals hall, after you leave baggage reclaim. At large airports, terminals are far apart, so it helps to know where you will arrive beforehand:

  • Charles de Gaulle: terminals 1, 2 (halls 2A to 2G) and 3. The free CDGVAL train connects them, but travelling with suitcases takes time.
  • Orly: terminals 1 to 4.
  • Nice: two terminals, T1 and T2, connected by a free shuttle bus.

Once in the arrivals hall, message the driver or support if you cannot see them straight away. Do not go outside or get into a car with someone offering rides in the hall: the official driver knows your name.

How long to allow after landing

If you arrive from outside the Schengen area, allow more time for passport control. Getting from landing to the arrivals hall usually takes 30–60 minutes, and longer at peak times. On a Schengen flight without checked luggage, you may be out in 15–20 minutes.

That makes the included waiting time important. We include 1 hour after landing at the airport and 15 minutes for a city journey.

If the flight is delayed

We track the flight and the driver adjusts the meeting time. You do not have to notify us, but a message after landing is useful. Free waiting time starts at the actual landing and lasts 1 hour, however late the flight is.

If the flight is cancelled or you miss a connection, contact support on WhatsApp or Telegram immediately: it operates around the clock. Cancellation and rescheduling are free at least 48 hours before departure. You can also change the address after booking; we will try to accommodate everything you tell us in advance.

Which vehicle to choose

GuestsVehicleLuggage
1–3Volkswagen Passat, Mercedes E-Class, S-Class2–3 suitcases
4–7Mercedes V-Class6–8 suitcases
8–16Mercedes Sprinter VIP12–16 suitcases

If three of you each have a large suitcase, a saloon will feel cramped. Book a minivan beforehand instead. Child seats are free; request them when booking.

Returning to the airport

For an international flight from Charles de Gaulle at peak times, leave central Paris 3–3.5 hours before departure. For smaller airports such as Bordeaux or Marseille, 2.5 hours is usually enough. Specify your terminal beforehand so the driver can drop you at the right entrance.

Transfer, taxi or train

If you are travelling light without children to central Paris, the RER B train or a taxi can work. A transfer is particularly useful for a group, lots of suitcases, a late flight or when you do not want to work out the route after travelling overnight. The price known in advance does not change with traffic. For transport throughout your trip, see “How to choose transport for a wine tour” and “Safety and comfort”.
